Daniel STONA

The Founder

Daniel STONA is a graduate of an engineering school and of the Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Industrielle (C.E.I.P.I.). He also holds a Diploma in ‘European Patent Litigation’ awarded by the Faculty of Law of the University of Strasbourg.

In addition, he is a registered European Patent Attorney (E.P.A.), an Industrial Property Attorney (I.P.A.) on the list of the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (I.N.P.I.), a Swiss Patent Attorney before the Institut Fédéral de la Propriété Intellectuelle (I.P.I.) and a representative before the Unified Patent Court (U.P.C.).

After practicing in various industrial property law firms for almost 12 years in France (Lyon, Paris), 3 years in German-speaking Switzerland (Berne) and 4 years in French-speaking Switzerland (Geneva), he founded Etude Daniel Stona in France (Ferney-Voltaire) and DS-Pat in Switzerland (Geneva) in June 2012. In June 2014, he founded Mervelix Sàrl in Switzerland (Geneva), the successor to DS-Pat. In January 2015, he founded Mervelix in France (Ferney-Voltaire), which took over the activities of Etude Daniel Stona.

Daniel STONA mainly deals with patents in the fields of mechanics (general, micromechanics, watchmaking, medical devices, etc.) and chemistry (organic and inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, materials, etc.).

Its working languages are French (mother tongue), English and German, as well as English and French, to which are added correspondence languages such as Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Esperanto.
